We Can Do Better. And We Will.

A New Boston, Powered by the People.

About

My name is Kerry Augustin

Let me be honest and just put it all out there.

My name is Kerry Augustin. I’m running for mayor because Boston has always been a city of revolution — and it’s time for another one.

Not with muskets or tea in the harbor — but with a movement that puts working people, struggling families, and everyday Bostonians back at the center of power.
Because this city didn’t become great by playing it safe. It got there by challenging the status quo — by standing up, speaking out, and demanding more.

I’m not here to play politics. I’m here because people are struggling, and too many of the folks in charge are out of touch or out of reach. We deserve better — and that starts with listening, showing up, and doing the work together.

I was born and raised in Boston, the child of two immigrant parents. I’m a Gen Zer. I’m not a career politician. I don’t have big donors. And I’m not running because someone groomed me for this.

I’ve seen what it’s like when rent eats half your paycheck. When schools go underfunded year after year. When entire neighborhoods feel like they’re being pushed out. And I know I’m not alone — that’s the Boston too many of us are living in.

I don’t claim to have all the answers. I haven’t led marches or stood at the mic at rallies. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t cared — or that I haven’t been paying attention. I’ve felt the frustration. I’ve listened. And I’ve always believed you don’t need a title or a bullhorn to want better for your city.

Since eighth grade at the Mildred Ave, when Mr. Shelburn’s civics class shifted how I saw the world, I’ve wanted to serve. Not for clout — but because helping people has always felt like the point.

This campaign isn’t about me. It’s about us. About putting people over power. About building a city where everyday voices actually matter.

And that starts with one question:

So let me ask you, Boston — how can I help?

Economic Development

Creating economic opportunities and supporting local businesses are key priorities for Kerry. By focusing on economic development, we can ensure a thriving economy for all Bostonians.

Leading Before the Title

Real action. Real community work. No waiting for a position to start making a difference.

🧤 The Neighborhood Helpers Act

An initiative to support Boston’s most vulnerable residents — before emergencies happen.
The Neighborhood Helpers Act is a community-powered program I created to assist seniors, mobility-challenged individuals, and low-income residents with snow removal, garbage management, and other critical tasks that too often lead to fines, falls, or hardship.
This initiative is designed to:
  • Protects Boston’s seniors and mobility-challenged residents from physical harm, financial penalties, and neglect — especially in harsh winter months.
  • Creates a volunteer-powered network that builds real community connections, not just services.
  • Reduces enforcement stress by offering support before citations and injuries happen.
  • Delivers an eco-conscious, cost-effective solution aligned with the city’s climate goals and budget limitations.
📌 Currently in development. Built for the people, shaped by lived experience, and protected until ready to launch.

🏘️ The Path to a Home for All Act

A bold housing vision rooted in urgency, dignity, and justice.
Boston’s housing crisis isn’t about lack — it’s about misplaced priorities. The Path to a Home for All Act is a people-first housing strategy I authored to expand affordable housing, fight displacement, and restore power to tenants, working families, and lifelong residents.
This act is guided by these core principles:
  • Housing is a human right — not a business model.
This act refuses to treat housing as a luxury or investment first. It centers dignity and need.
  • Displacement is violence that destroys families, culture, and generational wealth.
The act treats gentrification and eviction not as byproducts, but as injustices to be actively stopped.
  • The city must lead on racial, economic, and climate justice through housing.
Policy isn’t neutral — this act makes it equity-driven.
  • People, not profits, must decide what gets built and who it’s for.
It calls for public development for the public good — with resident voices, not just developers, at the center.
📌 Currently in draft form. This proposal is being shaped by community voices and will be released when it’s ready to be not just read — but acted on.
Ideas are easy to steal. Commitment isn’t.
These proposals are living documents, shaped with care and collaboration — and I’m protecting them until they’re ready to serve the people, not the politics.

The People’s Campaign Starts with You

Movements don’t start at the top — they start with us.

This campaign is powered by people, not big money or political machines. Whether you’ve got a few hours a week, a strong voice online, or just the desire to help — there’s a place for you here.

We can do better — and we will, together.
